“Unpleasant, brash, loud, drunk, racist — yeah,” says actress Olivia Poulet of the four females in Sarah Rutherford’s Adult Supervision, a new play at the Park Theatre in Finsbury Park, directed by artistic director Jez Bond.
The conceit is that a white lawyer who has adopted two Kenyan babies invites some other mothers of non-white children to her north London home to watch Barack Obama contest the 2008 US election, in a bid to make her family life a bit more “beige”.
Poulet has not publicly announced the news, but she discussed wedding dresses on last week (ends18Oct15), writing, "Wrote an email to wedding dress woman thanking her for showing me frocks but saying 'sadly I can't afford it this time round.'" She has been dating Dobiesz since 2012.
Poulet and Cumberbatch met while studying at Manchester University, England and went on to live together in Hampstead, North London.
Following their split, the Sherlock actor dated designer Anna Jones, and then theatre director and actress Sophie Hunter.
The Thick of It star, who split from Cumberbatch in 2011 after 10 years together, tied the knot with actor Laurence Dobiesz on Thursday (24Dec15).
‘And if that is amazing, well, considering how busy both Sophie and I are, it’s a minor miracle that we met each other at all in the way we did.’ Benedict is clearly besotted with Sophie Hunter and has already got an idea of what their nuptials will be like.
The Thick of It star, who dated Cumberbatch for ten years until 2011, is preparing to tie the knot with actor Laurence Dobiesz, according to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper.
“Izzy has a line about how she’s always wanted to be more exotic but all she can find in her family tree is a grandmother who looked a bit tanned in old photos,” says Poulet.
